My name is Ioan Maga (b. 1979, in Brasov, Romania) and this is my photography blog.
I use photography as a mean of expression driven by curiosity, observation, and encounters with people in public places or inner spaces.
I often rely on serendipity because great pictures do not require a chosen moment or destination. You may take them while wandering about, as well as during your daily routine, like a staircase at the workplace, inside the same metro station you have walked in and out for years, or the way back home from the playground with your kid. You just must stay tuned and let the light inspire you. And because the best gear to shoot is not always your favorite camera, but the one you have it with you, even though it’s a mobile phone lens.
As Jean-Luc Godard once said: “It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.”
